Impact Studies
Adirondack Wind Energy Park will create impacts on the environment. The impacts will be
identified, carefully evaluated and weighed to determine the suitability of the project.
The permitting process for Adirondack Wind Energy Park will be extensive and will require
Adirondack Wind Partners to perform impact analysis. The studies will include visual, flora,
fauna, bird, bat, soil erosion, and geological surveys.
For the purpose of familiarizing the public with the proposed visual impact of Adirondack Wind
Energy Park, AWP performed a preliminary viewpoint analysis from three different areas. The
three simulations are indicative and are depicted below.
- Proposed view as seen from the Gore Mountain Ski Area - Top of Northwoods Gondola
- Proposed view as seen from Route 28 near the hamlet of North Creek
- Proposed view as seen from Blue Mountain Fire Tower, approximately 21 miles from the project
