The development process for a wind energy project is a detailed, time consuming process which often takes several
years to complete.
Identifying an excellent location for a wind project alone takes into account months or years
of study and due diligence. Attention to detail during the wind study and verification process and the commencement
of a broad array of studies to further determine feasibility is also a time consuming and costly endeavor.
Once
the project is designed, and impact studies are complete, the development can move into the permitting phase.
It is also important to note that throughout the entire process, it is important that the Project’s benefits and
potential impacts are communicated to the public and that there is strong public support. Only after the project
has received all of its required permits can the six to ten month construction process begin.
