The Project- Adirondack
Wind Partners seeks to establish a wind park in the strong, steady
winds passing over the Gore and Pete Gay Mountains in Warren County, New York. Located about 80
miles north of Albany at the site of a former mining operation, the wind park represents
a step toward meeting our energy needs in a sustainable way.
About 10 turbines at the site could produce up to 30 MW of power and supply over half of
the 26,000 homes in Warren County, the equivalent of removing over 11,000 automobiles from
the road.
While under construction the project will create jobs for local communities. Once underway,
it would produce significant tax revenue and deliver green energy to local businesses and
homes, helping bring New York closer to its goal of 25% renewable energy generation.
The Partners- Adirondack Wind Partners LLC (AWP), a joint venture
between The Barton Group and Reunion Power LLC was established
in the fall of 2004 for the sole purpose of developing Adirondack Wind Energy Park.
The Barton Group (Barton) is the parent company of Barton Mines Company, LLC, (www.barton.com), Virginia Abrasives
Corporation (www.virginiaabrasives.com) and Barton International Incorporated. The Company has been and continues
to be a major contributor to the North Country economy with 65 employees at its operations near North Creek and
25 employees at its offices in Lake George.

planning, development, and management of wind energy projects and provides professional services for owners and
financiers of power projects. Reunion currently manages and has an ownership position in over 180 MW of operating
wind farms in the Midwest and the company’s principals have developed over 400 MW of environmentally efficient power
generating facilities throughout upstate New York.
