The Project-
- Wind park located over Gore and Pete Gay Mountains, Warren County, NY
- 80 miles north of Albany, NY
- former mining site, owned by Barton Mines
- ~10 turbines at site - could produce up to 30 MW of power
- supply over 1/2 the 26,000 homes in Warren County
- equivalent to removing over 11,000 automobiles from the road
- create jobs for local community
- produce significant tax revenue
- helps bring New York State to goal of producing 25% renewable energy
The Partners- Adirondack Wind Partners LLC (AWP), a joint venture
between The Barton Group and Reunion Power LLC was established
in the fall of 2004 for the sole purpose of developing Adirondack Wind Energy Park.
The Barton Group (Barton) is the parent company of Barton Mines Company, LLC, (www.barton.com), Virginia Abrasives
Corporation (www.virginiaabrasives.com) and Barton International Incorporated. The Company has been and continues
to be a major contributor to the North Country economy with 65 employees at its operations near North Creek and
25 employees at its offices in Lake George.
Reunion Power LLC (www.reunionpower.com), with offices located in Vermont and New Jersey, specializes in the
planning, development, and management of wind energy projects and provides professional services for owners and
financiers of power projects. Reunion currently manages and has an ownership position in over 180 MW of operating
wind farms in the Midwest and the company’s principals have developed over 400 MW of environmentally efficient power
generating facilities throughout upstate New York.
